Two men released as gardai continue investigating death of Dublin man Mahamud Ilya Dublin Live

The two men that were arrested by Gardaí investigating the murder of 22-year-old Mahamud Ilyas in Co Meath have been released without charge.
A man aged in his 50s was arrested earlier this week has now been released without charge. A second male in his late teens was also arrested as part of the investigation on Tuesday 13 December 2022, and he has also been released without charge.
Mr Ilyas’ remains were discovered wrapped in carpet in a field in rural Co Meath on Saturday afternoon. He lived in the west Dublin area with his family who are originally from Somalia.
A garda spokesman confirmed that they are appealing for anyone who may have information on Mr Ilyas’ movements between Friday 9 December and Saturday 10 December to contact them. A garda spokesman said: “Investigating Gardaí continue to appeal for information.
Mahamud Ilyas’ remains were discovered in a field in rural Co Meath on Saturday afternoon.
“They are particularly appealing to any persons who may have seen or spoken with Mahamud between Friday 9th December, 2022 after 10am to Saturday afternoon 10th December, 2022. Any persons with any information on the movements of Mahamud are asked to contact the investigating team.”
Gardai are also appealing to anyone who travelled along Belgree Lane, Kilbride on Friday 9 or Saturday 10 of December, to come forward. Motorists with dashcam footage from this location are asked to make it available to Gardaí.
“Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Incident Room at Blanchardstown Garda Station on 01 6667000, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
“Investigations are ongoing,” added a garda spokesman.
